I'm a Newbieland Conqueror

I've been playing this game lately. Platform Racing isn't really fun- all you do is run around and race other people in hopes of improving your "rank" and finding more hats to wear. But the level editor is cool because you can draw your own artwork (using limited tools, unfortunately) into the levels you create. Like the sail for the sailboat in the screen capture above.

Or like this:

Blog Parade!

(Yeah, I have no life.)

So I thought that the "Next Blog" button on the blogger header at the top of this page would bring you to the next blog created after yours, but apparently that isn't the case. It just brings up a random blog, which is somewhat disappointing because I wanted to have a next-door blog neighbor.

I clicked the button five times. Here are the five blogs (in the English language- I skipped the ones in German/French/other foreign languages) that showed up!

Akela's Cubs - This blog's about the adventures of a cub scout troup. In South Africa! Wow! They do a lot of cool things, apparently, like hosting their own Olympics. Also, the woman who writes the blog likes the same bands as I do, which would be awesome except she's married with two kids and I'm a senior in high school o.O

ze Last Chance Garage du 7/8 - I don't really understand what this blog is about. It seems to belong to a group of motorcyclists. They don't write a lot, but they post a lot of really cool pictures. Such as this one:

It's Mao with Micky ears!

ShinnyBling - This is a cool blog written by a "little old lady" (she said it herself) who makes nifty glass jewelry with nifty titles. I want snowballs in hell! And these amazing watermelon beads! And this gorgeous bracelet! I don't know a lot about working glass; the only time I ever tried it was at the Corning Glass Museum, where I made a twisted and misshapen glass flower.

She also has an etsy, where she's selling the snowballs in hell for 15 bucks! I don't have any money (saving for college), but if I ever do and they're still there, perhaps I'll buy them.

The Palmers - I was skimming through this blog and saw that they wrote "getting ready for our nightly Paris walks", so I thought that they lived in France. But upon closer inspection, it turns out that the Paris the Palmers were talking about was Paris, Ohio, and they were only there for vacation. Whoops.

Two Granny's Travels - What a coincidence! A series of interesting posts about two women's travels in France. Unfortunately, the Notre Dame was closed on the day they visited. But they've been to a lot of of other nice French places like the Tuileries, the Louvre, and of course, the Eiffel Tower. Apparently, the food (both types) is really good in France too.

It's interesting to see what other people are saying about their lives.

Game shot, hunt ended

Double post. Sorry. Wanted to keep my intro post separate.

I've finally found out the name to a piece of classical music for the organ that I've been wanting to know for about three years now. It's in movies a lot, usually in movies with evil scientists and impeding dooms and things like that. An fellow orchestra ensemble member thought it was from Bach, and she was right! After visiting the Bach section of Kick Ass Classical: The Most Popular Classical Music, I finally found the "Tocatta et Fuga in D Minor"!

Here are two online sheet-musics (strange plural) for your perusal: 1 and 2. If you're music-illiterate, here's a youtube video.

Bach also wrote a lot of other nice pieces besides the Tocatta et Fuga. I like his two-part inventions, in particular, and the Mass in B Minor.

But Brahms and Debussy are still the masters. In my opinion, anyway.

So...blog?

Anyway, I got my own domain name a couple of months back (the still-empty Colorshark website), but never did anything with it because I was still inept at coding back in those days. Also because I forgot my Google Apps username and couldn't log in.

And now that I actually remember my username and have learned HTML/CSS, I've lost all motivation/time to do anything whatsoever. What a waste of a domain name, right? Then I thought, well, maybe I'll pick up the blogging thing again and just host the blog on my site. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do it even with Blogger's helpful help, so for now, the blog's staying on Blogger.

Anyway, my blog experience is limited. I once had a Xanga, but it died from neglect.

I feel sort of stupid writing to...nobody. When I write essays, I'm writing for my teacher. When I write fiction, I'm writing for myself and the people I know well. Well, who am I writing to now? The monstrous abyss of the internet?
